Comments: Version 5's Line tool is pretty straightforward. There are two types of lines, Normal (straight lines) and Bezier (curved lines). This tool in version 5 corresponds to the "Draw" Tool in version 6 (see below).

PSP6 DRAW TOOL TAB: PSP 6's Draw tool corresponds to version 5's Line tool with more options. As in version 5, there are Normal (Single or straight lines) and Bezier (curved lines) options as well as "Freehand" and "Point To Point" lines (see #2 example to left).

The "Freehand" option allows you to draw freehand lines in various widths and the "Point To Point" option allows you to draw lines of various widths by clicking from point to point (useful when tracing around an object).

Additionally, in version 6, the style of the line can be altered. Options available are "Stroked", "Filled" or "Stroked & Filled" (see #3 example to left).

"Stroked" denotes an outlined line. "Filled" denotes a filled line (normally with whatever foreground color is set in the color palette) and "Stroked & Filled" is an outlined line filled with a different color (normally whatever background color is set in the color palette).

Comments: Version 5's Shapes tool is pretty straightforward. There are four shapes: rectangle, square, ellipse and circle. This tool in version 5 corresponds to the "Preset Shapes" Tool in version 6 (see below). There are two styles available: outlined or filled".

PSP6 PRESET SHAPES TAB: PSP 6's "Preset Shapes" tool corresponds to version 5's "Shapes" tool with more shapes and styles available.

In addition to the four shapes available in version 5 there are: rounded rectangle, rounded square, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, 2 stars and 3 arrows (see example #2).

There are also more shape styles available in version 6 (see example #3). They are: "Stroked" which corresponds to "Outlined" in v. 5, "Filled" which corresponds to "Filled" in v. 5 and a new option, "Stroked & Filled" which outlines the shape with a line in the foreground color and fills the shape with the background color.
