This effect is created by overlaying a color image on a black and white image. In this case, the B/W IMAGE [7K] is loaded by the browser before the 256 COLOR IMAGE [18K] is loaded. A nice effect, it also has the added benefit of giving the viewer something to look at while the larger color image is downloading. Note: It has come to my attention that this attribute only works in Netscape...Oh well...See the Sawyer Glacier calving up close!
