Tess was bred by Erin Schaefer of Canami Shelties, Alexandria Bay, NY. "Canami" is pronounced "Can-A-Me" and means "Canadian Friend". You can see Tess' sire and dam on her puppy pics page.

Tess loves obedience, tracking and agility but her favorite thing is to go for her daily run on the trails in and around our hometown of Juneau, Alaska.

RIP Tess
Tess passed away peacfully yesterday. There will never be another dog like her for me. She was my pet, partner and best friend for almost 16 years and she leaves a huge hole in my heart. She will always be the Best In My World!

AKC UD at age 11.5!
Tess finished her AKC UD from the Utility A class under Earl Vaughn at the Cook Inlet Kennel Club trials in Palmer! This was Tess' retirement party although she may still show in our local trials and in UKC Rally Obedience! AKC Utility legs were earned under Ronnie Bizer (181), Alvin Eng (185) and Earl Vaughn (188).

HIT at Age 11!
Tess racked up another HIT from the Utility B class under Lisa Barnard at our local UKC Trials! Still competing at age 11, she looks and moves like a younger dog - a tribute to her breeders at Canami.

Tess earned the final 13 points to finish her UOCH title under Lisa Barnard and Cindy Leung at CKCoJ's UKC Obedience Trials from the Utility B and Open B classes. She also earned a High in Trial, a High Combined and a High Aggregate award during the weekend.
